FOR SALE: 1966 Dodge Charger 426 Hemi 4-Speed
1 of 468 Hemi Fastbacks. 1 of Only 250 Factory 4-Speeds Built
• Location: Fenton Missouri
• Production Rarity: 1 of 250 ever built with this drivetrain configuration
• Drivetrain: 426ci "Street Hemi" V8 (425 HP / 490 Lb-Ft) + A833 4-Speed Manual
The Ultimate Blue-Chip Mopar:
1966 was the year Chrysler finally unleashed the legendary 426 Street Hemi onto America's streets to satisfy NASCAR homologation. While the radical new fastback Charger was an instant styling hit, very few buyers possessed the bank account or the nerve to spend an extra $877 (nearly a third of the car's base price) to drop the race-bred Hemi between the fenders.
Only 468 Hemi Chargers left the factory for the inaugural 1966 model year. More importantly, while 218 buyers optioned for the TorqueFlite automatic, just 250 hardcore enthusiasts ordered the bulletproof A833 4-speed manual.
This car is one of those legendary 250.
